Every April (Sithirai 16), there would be a panividai poja called “Thokka panividai” for Vaiyana Perumal. This panividai is from a particular family at vaagavilai village. On this day, the family decorates a pillar with silk cloth and garlands which is inside the shrine of Vaiyana Perumal. They offer different kinds of food and during the prayer, they shout as “thokka thokka”. The family said that this panividai is for one of their ancestors who died in that place.
